Plantation Shutters are a low maintenance product with no need to clean fabrics or replace cords.

Internal Shutters – Keep free with a soft cloth, feather duster, microfiber wand or gently vacuum with a soft bristle attachment. Use a small soft brush to dust cracks and hard to get places, Spot clean with a soft damp cloth when necessary but quickly wipe dry. If soap and water must be used then use a small amount of PH neutral soap in lukewarm water.

External Shutters – They should be cared for in the same manner as internal shutters. However, since external shutters may be exposed to weather, dirt and grime will build up so cleaning with a soft damp cloth is required. All metal components (stainless steel hinges, pivots, wheels, etc) will require regular maintenance to ensure they’re safe from grime and it is recommended to apply an anticorrosion coating such as WD40, Selleys RP7 or Inox MX3.

Plantation shutters are not completely block out, as small amounts of light will appear through the louvers, panel and frame. This can be minimised by using an inside Z-frame to reduce light around the frame.

Loov plantation shutters are a beautiful addition to your bathroom, laundry or kitchen. We recommend using the Loov.poly range which is made from innovative, superior-quality, 100% recyclable polymer. Being man-made, poly shutters are resistant to humidity and moisture, to they’re perfect for wet areas and damp climates.
